Mt Southington Restaurant & Lounge Inc is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across ski mountain facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms and dining areas, sweeping and mopping floors, restocking supplies, and assisting with events.

The role requires reliability, punctuality, and ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays. The position emphasizes independent work, adherence to safety protocols, and prompt reporting of issues to mountain

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, dining areas, seating areas, and other guest-facing spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors in guest-facing areas.
• Empty trash/recycling and replace liners.
• Refill supplies like soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Remove snow and ice from entryways as needed.
• Assist with setup/breakdown for events or functions.
• Report maintenance issues to mountain leadership and follow safety procedures.
• Accurately record all hours worked and resolve discrepancies.

Position SummaryThe Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff in assigned areas across the ski mountain property. This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dining areas, restrooms, and other guest facing resort facilities to ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the season.Key ResponsibilitiesClean and sanitize restrooms, dining areas, seating areas, and other guest-facing spacesSweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors in guest facing areas including Red Barn and Mountain RoomConduct routine checks of dining room and guest facing areas to ensure cleanlinessConduct routine checks at the base of the mountain for debris and ensure all litter is properly disposed ofEmpty trash and recycling receptacles and replace linersRefill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paperRemove snow and ice from entryways as neededAssist with setup and breakdown for events or special functionsReport maintenance issues, hazards, or equipment needs to mountain leadershipFollow proper chemical handling and cleaning procedures, wearing PPE when requiredAdhere to safety guidelines and company policiesRespond promptly to guest and staff cleanliness requestsComplete required trainings as assigned by mountain leadershipAccurately record all hours worked, ensure time entries are complete, and promptly resolve any discrepancies prior to the end of each pay periodOther duties as assigned by mountain leadershipQualificationsMust be 18 years of age or olderStrong attention to detailAbility to work independentlyDependable and punctual with reliable transportationAbility to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidaysMust be eligible to work in the United StatesSuccessful completion of background checkWork Environment & Physical RequirementsAbility to walk, bend, lift, and stand for extended periods of timeAbility to perform repetitive physical tasksComfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsExposure to cleaning chemicalsAbility to occasionally lift up to 40 poundsCompensation & BenefitsCompensation: $17.50/hourBenefits: Complimentary ski/ride access for the duration of employment and employee discounts on food and beverages at participating locations (subject to mountain policy)
