Village Of Oregon Inc is seeking a custodian/janitor to maintain cleanliness and care of Village facilities including the Village Hall, Public Library, Senior Center, Police Department Public Safety Building and Public Works shop. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, dusting, sanitizing, waste disposal, restrooms, windows, and preparing rooms for meetings.
May perform light maintenance and snow removal.
Performs duties and responsibilities related to the cleaning and care of Village public facilities, including but not limited to the Village Hall, Public Library, Senior Center, Police Department Public Safety Building, and Public Works shop. Reports directly to the Parks and Facilities Manager. Does related work as required. The following duties are normal for this position. Other related duties or tasks may be required and assigned. Clean floors, carpets, mats and furniture. Specific methods vary by surface but may include sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, shampooing, steam cleaning, stripping, waxing, polishing, and/or buffing. Dust, clean, sanitize, and/or polish furniture ledges and woodwork. Empty wastebaskets, recycling bins and other waste receptacles and reline cans with liners as needed. Keep recycling items separate from waste and dispose in a legal manner. Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenishes supplies. Clean and sanitize drinking fountains, tables, counters, and telephones. Clean indoor surfaces including mirrors, walls, fixtures, blinds, and/or light fixtures. Wash indoor/outdoor surfaces including windows, screens, walls, metal, and woodwork. Pick up litter from around buildings and grounds. Assist in preparing rooms for meetings, conferences, banquets, etc. (ie. sets up/take down tables, chairs, and equipment). Inspect and triage facility maintenance issues. Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed. Examples of such tasks include removing and cleaning faucet aerators, changing lightbulbs and/or fluorescent tubes, installing small shelving or closet rod systems, and mounting pictures or other decorative wall hangings. Advise supervisor or individual building managers if a maintenance task requires special knowledge and/or tools to address. Maintain current skills and knowledge in the proper and safe techniques to provide janitorial services and building maintenance. Perform snow removal and salting of steps and sidewalk areas. Perform related work as required.

High School Graduate Or GED equivalent preferred. Equivalent combination of related education, Experience And Training Which Provides The Required Knowledge, Skills, and abilities may be substituted at supervisor's discretion. Experience as a custodian or janitor in maintaining facilities preferred. Must have a valid Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Must maintain the ability to lawfully operate designated motor vehicles at all times.

Must be able to tolerate and mitigate risks of (through the use of PPE and best practices) frequent exposure to hazards or risk of bodily injury, heat/cold extremes, temperatu e changes, noise, vibration, odors and dust, bodily fluids, and occasional exposure to toxic conditions and poor ventilation.
