Job summary

Apex Global Fulfillment is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our Girls Inc. facilities in Omaha, NE. The role involves general building maintenance and grounds keeping under supervision of the Deputy Director.

You will contribute to a welcoming, hygienic environment for girls, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, and surfaces; assisting with event setups; maintaining supplies; and reporting hazards

Qualifications

• 1+ year custodial or maintenance experience, preferably in school or community facilities.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Experience with floor care equipment and power tools.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs and work safely at heights (ladders up to 30 ft).
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Must pass criminal background check, Central Abuse Registry check, and drug screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floors (sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum).
• Sanitize and restock restrooms throughout the day.
• Empty trash and recycling bins; dispose of waste properly.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
• Perform carpet spot cleaning and assist with floor care (stripping, waxing, buffing).
• Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
• Conduct basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, lighting, ceiling tiles, furniture).
• Inspect and maintain facility systems (fire extinguishers, AEDs, water valves, sanitizer stations).
• Support event setups and breakdowns for trainings and special functions.
• Maintain building exterior and grounds (trash removal, snow/ice management, lawn care).
• Report needed repairs or hazards promptly.
• Collaborate professionally with staff and demonstrate reliability and teamwork.
