Job summary

7Seventy is seeking a custodial professional to support daily school operations by keeping buildings clean, safe, and orderly. You will clean, perform basic maintenance, set up rooms, and handle equipment across the school environment.

Responsibilities include restroom sanitation, floor care, carpet cleaning, and proper use of cleaning supplies. Candidates must be 18+, with a HS diploma and some custodial experience preferred; willingness to work overtime and basic computer use required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–6 months of custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• Dependability and initiative to work with limited supervision, alone or with a team.
• Ability to work overtime before or after regular shifts or on weekends as needed.

This custodial role supports daily school operations by keeping buildings and campus areas clean, sanitary, orderly, and safe. You will handle cleaning, minor maintenance, room setup, equipment use, and general facility support throughout the school environment.

What you’ll do

• Clean and sanitize restrooms and bathrooms using established cleaning procedures.
• Dust and wipe furniture, sweep, mop, vacuum floors, empty trash and recycling, replace light bulbs, and refill restroom dispensers.
• Assist with room and facility setup for meetings, classes, conferences, and events.
• Strip, clean, buff, seal, and finish hard surface floors.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment such as buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, pressure washers, vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees.
• Wash walls, equipment, windows, and blinds.
• Lock and unlock assigned buildings and help secure facilities when not in use.
• Follow instructions for safe use of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
• Remove snow, ice, ashes, and debris from sidewalks, stairs, driveways, lawns, and outdoor areas.
• Move furniture, equipment, tools, and supplies as needed.
• Handle recycling materials.
• Maintain clean, organized storage areas and adequate cleaning supply stock.
• Safely operate job-related equipment.
• Attend required training in cleaning methods, safety, First Aid, CPR, and related topics.
• Respond to emergencies when needed.
• Perform other assigned duties that support building operations.
