Mission
Support high-quality programs through daily cleaning and maintenance, unbundling and assembling deliveries, assisting at special events, and running errands. Reports to the Office Administrator.
Typical tasks include:
- Sweep, mop, and disinfect classrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and other spaces daily.
- Conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure the building is ready for students and address issues.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs (painting, replacing switches, fixing door handles, addressing leaks, clogged drains, etc.).
- Sweep sidewalks daily, check the playground and garden for debris.
- Perform seasonal tasks such as waxing floors, painting ceilings and classrooms, and using power tools and equipment.
- Assist teachers and the Program Director with opening doors for dismissal or fire drills.
- Sweep staircases, dust baseboards, window sills, and computer screens.
- Dismantle boxes, set up equipment, and dispose of garbage.
- Clean mops and report safety or maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow safety procedures during school closing.
Special Events
Cleaning and setting up for open houses, fundraisers, and other events.
Errands
Obtaining supplies, pick-up and delivery tasks, and cleanup from accidents or unexpected events.

- Skilled in basic repair activities with attention to detail.
- Punctual and aware of work schedules.
- Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and complete forms correctly.
- Service-oriented attitude, willing to help and work as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry at least 70 pounds.
- Capability to perform walking, twisting, turning, climbing, shoveling, stooping, bending, lifting, sweeping, and standing for extended periods.
- Normal tolerance and no allergies to common maintenance chemicals.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Work environment includes children’s voices.
Labor Details
- Part-Time: 5.5 hours/day.
- Schedule: 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 30-minute break.
- Non-Exempt position.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate or learn to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, power tools, snowblowers, etc.
- Perform light maintenance tasks (changing bulbs, tightening fittings, painting, etc.).
- Second language (Spanish) preferred.
