Job summary

Marathon Staffing is seeking dependable Custodial Workers to help maintain clean, safe, and sanitary facilities. This role involves performing a variety of custodial and janitorial duties in state facilities.

You will clean offices and common areas, operate cleaning equipment, and follow safety guidelines. The position requires at least three years of custodial experience and the ability to communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental, or similar environment.
• Working knowledge of custodial equipment, cleaning materials, and janitorial procedures.
• Knowledge of safe handling and proper mixing of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment or furniture.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, classrooms, laundry rooms, and other facility areas.
• Dust, sweep, mop, strip, buff, and finish floors.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Clean windows, mirrors, walls, doors, fixtures, stairwells, and elevators.
• Empty trash receptacles and maintain cleanliness throughout assigned areas.
• Operate powered cleaning equipment such as buffers, burnishers, power washers, vacuums, and floor strippers.
• Safely handle and mix cleaning chemicals according to established procedures.
• Assist with room setups for meetings and special events.
• Replace light bulbs, vacuum bags, and belts as needed.
• Monitor building security by securing windows, doors, gates, and reporting security concerns.
• Maintain work logs, inventory records, and routine reports.
• Attend required trainings and follow all safety guidelines.
