Job summary

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Montrose is seeking a part-time custodian to maintain an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors at St. Mary School.

The role requires afternoon and evening hours and completion of background checks and trainings prior to hire. The successful candidate will clean classrooms, offices, gym and restrooms, perform routine floor care, handle basic maintenance on equipment, restock supplies, and ensure doors and lights are

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds to maintain a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
• Cleans, sweeps, mops, buffs and polishes floors of hallways and classrooms
• Maintains safety of facilities and equipment
• Operates basic custodial machines and tools for cleaning
• Performs minor maintenance on custodial equipment and fixtures
• Performs routine summer and break cleaning and moving tasks
• Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies
• Secures facilities and grounds to minimize risk and liability
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Lifts at least 50 pounds, climbs ladders up to 6 feet, and stands/walks during shift

Description

The Custodian is responsible for ensuring an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors. This is a part-time position at St. Mary School.

Requirements:

• Able to work afternoon and evening hours.
• Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds (e.g. classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
• Cleans, sweeps, mops, buffs and polishes floors of hallways and classrooms
• Helps maintain safety issues and/or proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Performs functions that require the use of machines, equipment, and tools for the purpose of maintaining a clean and sanitized building environment.
• Performs minor, job-related, maintenance on custodial equipment, classroom furniture and fixtures (e.g. change vacuum cleaner belts, bags, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper functioning and usability of items.
• Performs routine summer and break maintenance (e.g. strip/wax floors, moves furniture, painting, etc.) for the purpose of completing and/or facilitating summer and break cleaning and maintenance.
• Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies for the purpose of ensuring adequate quantities for daily use.
• Secures facilities and grounds (e.g. doors, lights, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss and/or potential liability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Lift at least 50 pounds, climb and work off a 6' ladder, able to walk/stand throughout the day.
