Job summary

Keel Midwest is seeking a Custodian to maintain the cleanliness of our large machining facility on the day shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. You will perform cleaning tasks, restock supplies, and assist maintenance staff as needed to keep a safe, orderly environment.

You will handle waste disposal, manage coolant supplies, and support general sanitation. PPE is provided, and the role may involve occasional collaboration with maintenance mechanics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products required.
• Good communication skills and the ability to prioritize with minimal supervision.

Overview

As a Custodian for Keel Midwest, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of our large machining facility and occasionally assisting the maintenance staff.

Job Functions

• Duties include cleaning walls, floors, equipment, or any other areas of the facility as needed.
• You will restock cleaning supplies and maintain janitor closets in an organized, safe manner.
• Waste disposal, managing coolant supplies and waste system, and general sanitation of the facilities will be daily tasks.

• May be asked to assist maintenance mechanics with their tasks occasionally.

Physical Demands

Moderate to heavy lifting, operation of equipment such as floor sweepers or fork trucks, with licensing provided as necessary.

Work Environment

Shop floor environment with exposure to moderate noise, fumes, debris, and dirt and oil. Environment will also contain heavy machinery and rotating parts. PPE is required at all times and is provided.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products required.
• One to three years of janitorial/custodial experience preferred.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions, such as those on cleaning product labels.
• Good communication skills and the ability to prioritize with minimal supervision.
