Spherion Staffing, LLC in Texas is seeking a dependable school custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will perform routine cleaning tasks (dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming), protect floors with buffing and care, and report hazards while assisting with light maintenance.

Requires High School education and 1–4 years experience; hours 2:30 PM–11:00 PM; benefits include medical, prescription, dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance,

Qualifications

• Passing a comprehensive criminal background check and fingerprinting is mandatory
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and operate industrial cleaning machinery such as a floor machine.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors to ensure cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Maintain and care for floor types through buffing and floor care techniques to enhance their appearance and longevity.
• Take out trash, clean classrooms, hallways, windows, gymnasium, and areas around the school, and complete tasks quickly and efficiently.
• Report broken fixtures, leaks, or safety hazards to management and perform minor maintenance like changing light bulbs.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors to ensure cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Maintain and care for various floor types through buffing and floor care techniques to enhance their appearance and longevity.
• Perform other tasks such as taking out the trash, cleaning classrooms, cleaning hallways, wiping windows, cleaning the gymnasium, picking up trash around the school as needed, mopping the stairs, and working quickly to get all tasks done.
• Reporting broken fixtures, leaks, or safety hazards to management, and performing minor maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs.

Working hours

2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Skills

• Proficiency in deep-cleaning classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, and gymnasiums.
• Capable of prioritizing tasks independently to finish a cleaning route.
