Job summary

Powerhouse Gym in Linden, NJ is seeking a dedicated custodian to help keep our facility clean, safe, and welcoming for every member. You will be responsible for cleaning gym areas, restocking supplies, and assisting with event setups in a high-energy environment.

The role requires reliability, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently with flexible weekend hours. We value a professional, team-oriented attitude and a commitment to health and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Prior custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitation procedures, and safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented work ethic.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs for extended periods.
• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.
• Weekend position with potential to cover extra hours as needed.
• Strong sense of professionalism and a positive, team-player attitude.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize gym equipment, locker rooms, restrooms, and common areas throughout the facility.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain all flooring surfaces on a regular schedule.
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and cleaning products as needed.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
• Identify and report maintenance issues or safety hazards to management.
• Ensure the facility meets health and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist with light facility setup and breakdown for events or equipment rearrangement.
