Job summary

The DM Burr Group is hiring a Full Time Custodian for the Imlay City School District, working Monday to Friday from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. The position offers a wage of $15.00 per hour along with a $200 hiring bonus after 90 days.

Your primary responsibilities will include cleaning and caring for the facilities, operating various cleaning equipment, and performing light building maintenance duties as required. Ideal candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Position Details

Title: Full Time Custodian – 2nd Shift

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm – Imlay City School District

Wage: $15.00 per hour

Hiring Bonus: $200 after 90 days of employment

Primary Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for the assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines, and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• Remove stains from surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Clean furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restrooms, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification.
• Must be self‑motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 0–6 months custodial/janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
• Ability to follow basic verbal & written instructions.
• Attention to detail.
• Team aptitude and approach.
