Job summary

Peterson Machinery Co. in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a reliable custodian to maintain clean, safe facilities. This role operates Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm to Midnight, supporting a busy industrial environment and contributing to a culture of safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include floor care, trash removal, wall and window cleaning, restroom upkeep, and basic clerical tasks as needed. A high school diploma or GED and at least one year of custodial experience are required.

• Basic computer skills for timekeeping and training.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and scrub floors.
• Empty trash, garbage, and recycling daily.

• Clean restroom fixtures and refill dispensers.
• Dust furniture and equipment.
• Complete online training by the due date.
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
• May assist with clerical duties up to 30% of the time.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

This Position will be Monday-Friday 3:30pm - Midnight

• Clean all restroom fixtures and refill dispensers.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and furniture.
• Complete assigned online training by the established due date(s).
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

Depending on assignment and location, this role may assist up to 30% of the time with clerical duties including but not limited to reviewing maintenance work orders, document scanning and filing, email communications, and updating expense spreadsheets.

This position serves in the capacity of the Custodian. General discretion and judgment are exercised routinely in the execution of job duties. If errors in judgment or professional execution of responsibilities are made, the department may be negatively impacted.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS

Internal contacts consist of levels of positions in the company from business unit leaders to entry level positions. External contacts consist of visitors and vendors.

• Basic computer skills are required, including ability to:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a custodian, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
