Job summary

Peterson Machinery Co. is seeking a dedicated custodian to join our team in Hillsboro, Oregon.

The role is Monday through Friday, 3:30pm to Midnight, with responsibilities spanning floor care, restroom maintenance, and general cleaning to support a safe, organized workplace. Applicants should have at least a GED/high school diploma and a minimum of one year of custodian experience; a drug screen and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of custodian experience preferred in a heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and scrub all floors.
• Empty trash, garbage, and recycling containers daily.
• Clean and wash walls, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Clean all restroom fixtures and refill dispensers.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and fixtures.
• Complete assigned online training by the established due date(s).
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
• May assist up to 30% with clerical duties such as reviewing maintenance work orders, document scanning and filing, email communications, and updating expense spreadsheets.

This position serves in the capacity of the Custodian. General discretion and judgment are exercised routinely in the execution of job duties. If errors in judgment or professional execution of responsibilities are made, the department may be negatively impacted.

Internal contacts consist of levels of positions in the company from business unit leaders to entry level positions. External contacts consist of visitors and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic computer skills are required, including ability to:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a custodian, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
