Job summary

Clearwater Living seeks a Custodian to maintain cleanliness across all public and work areas of our premier senior living community in Glendora, CA. The role emphasizes excellent customer service, teamwork, and upholding high cleanliness standards.

You will follow safety protocols and maintain a positive, professional appearance every shift. Pay starts at $17.00 per hour with a Saturday-Wednesday 9:00am-5:30pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial or cleaning roles preferred
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Ability to follow cleaning schedules and use cleaning chemicals properly

Responsibilities

• Clean all common areas and offices, monitor and remove trash to keep the building clean at all times
• Set up and post safety signs before performing duties
• Report health, safety, or sanitation concerns to supervisor
• Maintain safe work areas by properly storing equipment after use
• Follow procedures for mixing, storing, and disposing of chemicals and cleaners
• Lock and secure housekeeping supplies and carts to prevent access by residents or visitors
• Comply with Clearwater Living standards and regulations to ensure safe operations
• Assist in moving residents during emergencies if needed
• Present a positive, professional image and wear required uniform and name tag
• Perform other duties as assigned

The Custodian is responsible for cleaning all public and work areas within our senior living community. Must demonstrate superior customer service and maintain the high standard of cleanliness that has been established for the community, and encourage teamwork through open communication with co-workers and other departments.

Pay: $17.00/hour

Schedule: Saturday-Wednesday 9:00am-5:30pm

Responsibilities

• Clean all common areas and offices, monitor and remove trash into designated trash receptacles to assure the building is clean at all times


• Ensure that all appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up and posted prior to performing duties


• Report any health, safety or sanitation concerns to the supervisor; including reporting any apartment repairs/conditions that need attention


• Maintain work areas safe and free of hazardous objects by putting all equipment away as soon as jobs are finished


• Follow all established procedures and policies for properly mixing, storing, and using chemicals, disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and for the proper disposal of waste


• Lock and control all housekeeping supplies and carts making sure that chemicals and/or hazardous materials are not left unattended, or accessible to residents or visitors


• Comply with Clearwater Living standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations


• May need to assist in the moving of residents during emergency situations


• Display a positive and professional image through actions and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working


• Represent the Clearwater Living principles and core values on a daily basis


• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or required

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred


• A minimum of one year of work experience in the industry preferred


• Background clearances as required by government regulations


• Must meet health requirements, including TB

Physical And Mental Demands

• Able to be mobile and perform the physical requirements of the job to include: walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and repetitive motions


• Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. and push up to 50 lbs., including carts, carpet cleaners


• Able to communicate orally, and to read, comprehend, and write at basic level


• Able to understand, remember and follow basic instructions and guidelines and perform basic calculations
