Job summary

Coryell County Land & Abstract is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping and Grounds Care worker to maintain county facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, restrooms, walls, and public areas, with attention to safety and sanitation.

The role requires following safety procedures, using cleaning equipment and chemicals, and coordinating with departments to ensure clean, presentable spaces for staff and visitors throughout the county.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, buffing, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, trash removal.
• Disinfect and stock restrooms with supplies.
• Clean/sanitize walls, blinds, handrails and doors.
• Wear proper PPE and follow safety protocols while cleaning.
• Sanitize surfaces and use ULV fogger as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness at locations where courts or county business operates.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The purpose of this position is to perform housekeeping and grounds care duties for the facilities of the County.

Essential Responsibilities and Functions:

• Perform housekeeping duties by sweeping, mopping, buffing and vacuuming floors, dusting, polishing, cleaning ceiling fixtures, furniture and emptying trash bins
• Disinfect, maintain and stock restrooms with needed supplies
• Clean/sanitize walls, blinds, handrails and doors
• Demonstrate proper cleaning techniques while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
• Clean/sanitize surfaces with the use of an ultra-low volume fogger when and where necessary
• Clean/sanitize any location in the county where courts or county business may be operating

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to use tact and diplomacy with the public and other County departments.
• Ability to follow safe work practices including workplace safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to use building cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Texas Driver's License
