Position Opening

TITLE: Custodian

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Custodian oversees the cleanliness of all school facilities. The role requires maintaining a positive relationship with all patrons and taking pride in the appearance of the premises. The Custodian works closely with the Facilities Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• General facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic technical, maintenance, and mechanic skills needed.
• Organizational skills and time management are essential.
• Friendly and welcoming demeanor.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintaining the overall cleanliness and care of the entire school facilities, including classrooms, restrooms, offices, gym, multipurpose rooms, grounds, desks, and lunchroom to ensure a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.
• Performing custodial functions as required to maintain a safe and attractive environment.
• Assisting in securing facilities and grounds to minimize property damage, equipment loss, and potential liabilities.
• Responsible for security, including unlocking and locking doors at designated times.
• Attending in-service training (e.g., floor care, first aid) to stay updated on procedures.
• Providing outside care such as lawn maintenance, landscape grooming, and snow removal.

COMPENSATION:

• Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
• Possible district housing available for rent.

REPORTS TO:

Facilities Manager

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Classified position, 6 hours per day, four days a week, 12 months a year.
