Job summary

Fort Lupton Press is seeking a full-time custodian to perform interior and exterior janitorial duties and minor maintenance for City facilities in Fort Lupton, CO. The role includes cleaning, disinfecting, floor care, snow removal, restocking supplies, and light repairs, with safety as a priority and occasional supervision of other staff.

Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm. Applicants should graduate high school or have a GED; valid driver's license and basic safety

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior custodial tasks: mopping, dusting, vacuuming.
  • Use floor cleaners for polishing, stripping, waxing, and carpet care.
  • Handle exterior duties including snow removal and litter pickup.
  • Restock supplies and assist in light maintenance or repairs as needed.
  • Ensure safety practices are followed and read MSDS when required.

Performs standard, interior and exterior janitorial/minor maintenance duties involving cleaning and disinfecting City facilities and public domains and performs lawn attendance and other grounds keeping duties, including snow removal.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform interior custodial duties involving mopping, dusting and vacuuming.
  • Use mechanical floor cleaners to polish, buff, strip and wax floors, and vacuum and shampoo carpets.
  • Perform exterior custodial/maintenance duties including snow removal and picking up litter.
  • Remove waste and soiled linens from work area and gathers and disposes of trash and waste, some which may contain hazardous materials.
  • Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls, including those in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, locker rooms, and weight rooms.
  • Restock supplies.
  • Moves, removes and relocates furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc., as directed.
  • Order supplies and equipment repairs, as authorized by supervisor.
  • Observe all common safety practices.
  • May perform minor maintenance repair such as unstopping toilets and sinks, and replacing burned out light bulbs.
  • May patch and paint walls.
  • May operate scissor lift.
  • May assist in training and checking the work of other employees.
  • Ability to read and interpret chemical instructions and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Qualifications And Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Graduation from high school or a GED certificate, preferred.

Experience Requirement

Licensure And/Or Certification
Must have valid Class R Driver's License
CPR or attainable within 90 days from date of hire
First Aid or attainable within 90 days from date of hire
AED or attainable within 90 days from date of hire
