The Traffic Operations Apprentice is an entry-level position focused on learning the basics of traffic operations Signs and Pavement Markings work. This role supports the installation and maintenance of traffic signs, pavement markings, and work zone traffic control to help keep roads safe for all modes of travel.
Working under supervision, the Apprentice assists with traffic control, performing field work, and learning how to use associated tools and equipment. The position includes hands‑on training and opportunities to earn certifications while building skills in safety, equipment operation, and traffic standards such as MUTCD and LCUASS, with the goal of advancing into a Technician I, Traffic Ops position.
