Job summary

Torrey Holistics in DuBois, PA is seeking a reliable Custodial Worker to maintain cleanliness and safety across our facilities. You will perform heavy cleaning tasks, operate scrubbing machines, vacuums, and other equipment, and ensure a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.

Qualifications

Job Summary:The Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of buildings and grounds in a safe and efficient manner. Primary responsibilities include performing heavy cleaning tasks, ensuring sanitary conditions, and maintaining the overall appearance of the facility. This role is essential in creating a safe and welcoming environment for employees and visitors.Key Responsibilities:Sweep, scrub, strip, seal, wax, and shampoo various types of floors, floor coverings, and furniture.Pressure wash locker rooms, restrooms, and other designated areas.Operate various types of scrubbing, buffing, and shampooing equipment such as scrubbing machines, vacuums, and wet-dry pick-up machines.Wash interior and exterior windows, walls, ceilings, light fixtures, window screens, and coverings.Set up and clean up chairs, tables, stages, platforms, bleachers, and lecterns for various scheduled events.Remove and replace light bulbs, ballasts, starters, shades, covers, window coverings, window screens, and wall hangings.Collect and remove accumulated waste and debris from buildings.Notify the supervisor of the need to reorder cleaning supplies, materials, tools, and equipment, and verify shipments against delivery slips.Lock doors, secure windows, and ensure all lights are turned off as necessary.Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.At least 1 year of experience in janitorial, custodial, or related cleaning services is preferred.Experience using industrial cleaning equipment and tools is a plus.Special Requirements:Ability to lift and move heavy objects.Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends if required.Valid driver’s license is requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment.Ability to operate and maintain cleaning tools and machinery.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.Good communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently and efficiently manage tasks.Additional Desired Characteristics:Experience working in large facilities such as schools, hospitals, or office buildings.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Strong work ethic and dependability.Work Environment:This role involves physical labor, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and exposure to cleaning chemicals.Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.Other Duties:This job description is not exhaustive, and additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
