Job summary

VF Corporation is seeking a Custodian in Danville, KY. The role runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, focusing on cleaning, sanitation and safety in a distribution environment.

You will maintain floors, restrooms, break areas and offices, using standard custodial tools. A valid high school diploma and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds are preferred requirements.

• Able to stand, walk, bend, push/pull and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain warehouse floors with sweepers, scrubbers, mops and other equipment.

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, training rooms and offices.
• Dust and disinfect surfaces and touchpoints.
• Clean windows, doors and walls as needed.
• Replenish paper products, soap and sanitizer.

Title: Custodian Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)

What will you do?

A day in the life of a Custodial Janitor at VF looks a little like this.

Facility Cleaning & Sanitation

• Clean and maintain warehouse floors using sweepers, scrubbers, mops, and other cleaning equipment.
• Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, training rooms, and office spaces.
• Dust, wipe, and disinfect surfaces, tables, fixtures, and touchpoints.
• Clean windows, doors, walls, and other facility surface as needed.
• Replenish paper products, soap, sanitizer, and other janitorial supplies.

Distribution Center Support

• Maintain cleanliness of warehouse aisles, staging areas, docks, and pedestrian walkways.
• Respond to spills, leaks, and other housekeeping issues promptly.
• Support facility appearance standards before, during, and after shift operations.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and facility events as assigned.
• Safely collect and dispose of waste materials according to company procedures.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or facility issues immediately.
• Properly store and handle cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized janitorial storage area.

Foundation skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow basic work instructions.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize assigned tasks.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace cleanliness and safety.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or facilities experience.
• Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Experience operating floor scrubbers, sweepers, or other custodial equipment.

Hiring Range: $13.61 USD - $17.02 USD per hour

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
