Job summary

USS Lexington Museum in Corpus Christi, TX seeks staff to maintain a safe, healthy environment for staff and visitors while preserving the history of the USS Lexington CV-16. Qualifications

• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.

• Successful completion of a physical examination by a licensed physician.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the approach way, admissions, tour routes, bathrooms, meeting rooms, berthing compartments, office areas, hangar bays and flight deck.
• Follow a weekly schedule for normal work operations.
• Attend monthly safety meetings on proper equipment and chemical use.
• Assist Special Events with setup and cleanup duties.
• Set up caution signs for visitors when needed.
• Direct visitors and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

Salary Range: $12.00 - $12.00 Hourly

Scope: To maintain a safe, healthy environment for museum staff, visitors, and guests and preserve the history of the USS Lexington CV-16.

Responsibilities

• Priorities are to include, maintaining the approach way, admissions, tour routes, bathrooms, meeting rooms, berthing compartments, office areas, Hanger Bays, and flight deck.
• Follow a weekly schedule for normal work operations.
• Attend monthly safety meetings on proper equipment and chemical use.
• Assist Special Events with event settings and clean-up duties.
• Set up caution signs for visitors when needed.
• Must be competent to direct visitors.
• Must be capable of understanding and implementing the Lexington’s Safety Program.
• Must be capable of understanding and implementing the Lexington’s Heavy Weather Plan.
• Perform any other job duties as delegated by the LSS Supervisor or Director of Operations.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand; use continuous hand, arm and finger manipulation. Environment requires climbing steep stairwells, so comfortable clothing and shoes with non-skid soles are recommended. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25-50 pounds. The vision requirements include: clear concise, close/distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
