Job summary

Merlin's SEA LIFE Charlotte-Concord is seeking a friendly Part-Time Custodian to help create clean, welcoming spaces for thousands of guests daily. You’ll join a team dedicated to safety, cleanliness, and exceptional guest service in a busy aquarium environment.

From restrooms to exhibits, you’ll clean, disinfect, restock supplies, and assist with opening and closing procedures while keeping guests safe and amazed by the underwater world.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months cleaning experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to work mornings, weekdays, and weekends.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Keep guest and team areas clean, safe, and adventure-ready.
• Empty, clean, and reline trash and recycling receptacles.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout the attraction.
• Safely clean spills and support a hazard-free environment.
• Clean restrooms, doors, windows, walls, and fixtures.
• Restock restroom supplies to guest-ready levels.
• Report maintenance needs and safety hazards.
• Safely operate custodial equipment and supplies.
• Support opening and closing procedures.

About the Role

As a Part-Time Custodian, you'll play a key role in helping create unforgettable memories for thousands of guests every day. From sparkling restrooms to spotless exhibits and guest areas, you'll help ensure every visitor enjoys a safe, clean, and amazing underwater adventure.

You'll be part of a team dedicated to delivering world-class experiences while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest service.

What You'll Be Doing

• Keep guest and team areas clean, safe, and adventure-ready
• Empty, clean, and reline trash and recycling receptacles
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout the attraction
• Safely clean spills and support a hazard-free environment
• Clean doors, windows, walls, baseboards, drinking fountains, and fixtures
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, including floors, walls, mirrors, and sinks
• Restock restroom supplies to keep everything guest-ready
• Report maintenance needs and repair issues as they arise
• Identify and correct or report safety and fire hazards
• Safely operate custodial equipment, tools, and cleaning supplies
• Support attraction opening and closing procedures
• Assist other departments when needed to help create an amazing guest experience
• Follow all company policies and health & safety procedures

• Excellent communication, listening, and motivation skills to keep the team and guests smiling.
• Self-motivated, whether flying solo or teaming up with fellow crew members.
• Flexible schedule ready! Able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts will start early before the attraction is open to guests.
