Responsibilities

  • Act as in-charge in the absence of supervisors.

This position is for 2nd shift 3 pm to 11 pm with occassional earlier starts and later end times. The position requires weekends. This position will also be required to support event set up and break down.

LOCATION: ON-SITE, REMOTE, OR HYBRID:On-Site
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

The Custodial Guest Services (CGS) Team Lead supervises the day-to-day operations of the Custodial Guest Services Department, as assigned by Custodial Guest Services Supervisor/ Senior Lead. The Team Lead is responsible for the daily cleaning, both interior and exterior of the aquarium. To provide both guests and staff a safe and sanitized atmosphere by keeping the facility neat, orderly, and clean. This position requires open availability for weekdays and weekends. This position also involves cross training on other shift times, and the readiness to work other shift times if needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform general janitorial responsibilities (such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, trash removal, restroom care, sanitization, etc.) with efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Utilize all types of cleaning equipment according to OSHA standards, as well as properly maintain all types of cleaning equipment (such as floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, floor burnisher, etc.).
  • Handle cleaning chemicals safely according to SDS guidance and Clearwater Marine Aquarium policy.
  • Clean bodily fluid spills as needed according to OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards and Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s policies and procedures.
  • Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures when preforming all janitorial responsibilities.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks, and safely operate hand tools when directed by the Environmental Operations Supervisor (such as replacing lightbulbs, ceiling tiles, etc.).
  • Assist in maintenance projects as directed by theCustodial Guest ServicesSupervisor/Senior Lead.
  • Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures when performing all light maintenance tasks.
  • Carry a company-provided radio and earpiece at all times during the shift, and efficiently respond to radio calls for allCustodial Guest Service’sneeds.
  • Assist with the management of all team members and volunteers as directed by the Supervisor or Senior Lead.
  • Assist with the training of team members and volunteers as directed.
  • Ensure all team members and volunteers are completing assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Oversee specific shifts and ensure the team as assigned completes duties.
  • Serve as the “in charge’’ point of contact for the team in the absence of the Custodial Guest Services Supervisor or Senior Lead.
  • Identify issues and needs, recommend changes, and offer creative ideas to the Supervisor.
  • Model a “lead by example” attitude, and encourage positive rapport and moral with all team members.
  • Trained to cover all positions within theCustodial Guest Servicesdepartment.
  • Remain in constant communications with the Supervisor, keeping the Supervisor aware of any issues, offering creative solutions, identify needs, and recommend changes to better the efficiencies of theCustodial Guest Servicesdepartment.
  • Support theCustodial Guest ServicesSupervisor and Senior lead as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess the following attributes and abilities:

  • Lift up to 50lbs to waist level - Frequently

  • Maneuver safely on uneven terrain or in tight spaces - Frequently

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • 1 year of janitorial experience preferred.
  • 1-year of management experience preferred.
  • 1-year customer service experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cleaning maintenance equipment, supplies, chemicals, techniques, and OSHA procedures as required.
  • Completed OSHA training preferred.
  • Must be flexible with changing shifts.
