Job summary

Ridgeview in Minnesota seeks a dedicated Custodian to maintain carpeting and hard floors in a hospital setting and to manage all waste streams in accordance with policy.

The role includes vacuuming, shampooing and extracting carpets, cleaning and refinishing floors, and supporting daily operations with safety and hygiene for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of floor care and custodial experience.
• Ability to meet background checks as aligned with position functions.
• Ability to communicate in English for effective written and verbal correspondence.
• Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Ability to work autonomously and as a team.
• Knowledge of floor care equipment.
• Ability to perform strenuous work under time constraints.

Job Functions

• Vacuums, shampoos and extracts carpets.
• Performs major cleaning and refinishing of floors in assigned areas.
• Collects all general, recyclable, infectious and hazardous waste and disposes of according to RMC standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of floor care and custodial experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
• Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
• Ability to work autonomously and as a team
• Knowledge of floor care equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous custodial experience in a hospital setting

Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
