Job summary

The Salvation Army in Alabama is seeking a part-time housekeeping staff to maintain the cleanliness of the facilities and grounds. The role includes cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, floors, windows, and linen services, with a schedule from Monday to Thursday 8:00 am to 3:30 pm and a half-hour lunch.

Candidates should be able to read and communicate in English, meet attendance requirements, and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, stooping, and climbing.

Qualifications

• No formal education or experience required.
• Six months experience performing general housekeeping duties.
• Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies.
• Sweeps, vacuums, mops and waxes floors; sweeps sidewalks.
• Cleans windows; dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures.
• Cleans kitchen and dining area; washes dishes; cleans and defrosts refrigerator; cleans stoves and ovens.
• Stocks and sorts pantry items.
• Washes, folds, and stores laundry and linens.

Schedule : Monday - Thursday : 8:00 am - 3:30 pm. Lunch 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm each day.
