Custodian - Boulder, CO Campus

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented full-time Custodian to join our campus operations team. This role involves maintaining a clean, safe environment across our facilities, including buildings, grounds, classrooms, kitchens, and common areas. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, refilling dispensers, and floor maintenance. The custodian will operate cleaning equipment, wash windows and walls, move furniture and equipment, and perform deep cleaning aligned with the academic calendar to ensure facilities are pristine. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work independently, and possesses strong organizational and time management skills, along with knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures. This position is vital in ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for visitors, students, staff, and faculty.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Clean and sanitize restrooms and common areas
2. Clean, dust, and wipe furniture, kitchen appliances, and surfaces
3. Empty and sanitize trash containers
4. Refill restroom dispensers and maintain supplies
5. Maintain floors through vacuuming and shampooing
6. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuums, brooms, and mops
7. Secure facilities by locking/unlocking doors and windows
8. Use chemicals and cleaning supplies safely and appropriately
9. Remove snow/debris from sidewalks daily
10. Move furniture and equipment to identify cleaning opportunities
11. Wash accessible interior and exterior windows

Physical Demands

This role requires operating cleaning equipment, with physical abilities including stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs. Standing for 90% of the time, tasks may involve vigorous and repetitive movements, gripping tools, and performing circular hand motions. Tolerance for loud noises and the ability to identify dirt, dust, and grease are necessary.

Working Conditions
