Goodwill Industries of South Mississippi, Inc. is seeking a Custodian in Biloxi, MS, to perform full-time custodial duties. The role maintains a neat, clean facility, following established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.

The position requires ability to lift up to 40 pounds, work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays, and dependable transportation. Compensation is $14.00 per hour with full-time benefits and opportunities to contribute to a strong team culture

Salary Range: $14.00 To $14.00 Hourly

MISSION CONTRIBUTION:

Assists in the maintenance of contracted facilities through the efficient and effective application of custodial maintenance procedures, in accordance with the desired Goodwill image.

FUNCTION:

Under the direct supervision of the Custodial Assistant Team Lead (ATL) or Lead Custodian, and the Success Coach, is responsible for assisting in the custodial maintenance of facilities in a neat and clean appearance.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Ensures 100% world-class customer service.
• Clean, dust and wipe furniture.
• Sweep, mop or vacuum floors.
• Empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures. Refill restroom dispensers.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
• Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds.
• Performs assigned duties within the framework of our PRIDE Core Values.
• Attends in-service and related training as assigned by contracts leadership.
• May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
• Performs other duties as assigned by contracts leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to utilize a wide array of custodial chemicals; general cleaning chemicals
• Ability to safely operate custodial equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to follow instructions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to bend, reach and stand for extensive periods of time and lift up to forty pounds. May be required to lift heavier goods/items with the assistance of another team member.
• Able to perform tasks that require repetitive motion; i.e. mopping, sweeping, etc. Manual dexterity is required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be available to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must have a reliable means of transportation.
