Job summary

Big Spring ISD is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain high safety and cleanliness standards across district facilities in Big Spring, Texas. You will follow routine cleaning procedures and assist in keeping classrooms secure and ready for daily operations.

The ideal candidate has good communication and reasoning skills; prior custodial or related maintenance experience is preferred. This is a full-time role, reporting to the Head Custodian, with opportunities for growth and a competitive

Responsibilities

• Report to the Head Custodian/Lead custodian for instruction.
• Perform cleaning duties.
• Carryout scheduled housekeeping duties as required.
• Assist in preparing for school rentals, dances, and other school activites.
• Make minor repairs to equipment as required.
• Check all classrooms to ensure that they are secure and windows are closed.
• Ensure that all doors are secure before leaving.
• Perform other duties as required for the daily operation of the school.

Job Description

Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.

Special Knowledge/Skills Required: Good communication and reasoning skills.

Experiece Preferred: Knowledge of custodial work or other related areas. Knowledge of minor repairs, electrical, plumbing, carpentry.
