City of Big Rapids is seeking a dedicated custodial worker to maintain cleanliness of City Hall, Public Safety Building, and Library. Duties include cleaning restrooms, floors, windows, and furniture; assisting with grounds maintenance; and performing minor repairs as needed.
May require some evenings and weekends and a valid Michigan driver's license. The position is AFSCME union—salary starts at $22.50 per hour after one year, rising to $23.00 per hour.

This is an AFSCME Union Position.
An employee in this position must stay in this position for a period of at least two years before bidding onanother City position.
Hours of Work: Variable
6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (1-hour lunch)
11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (1-hour lunch)
To include one Saturday a month as a regular shift
Under the supervision of the Department Head, performs moderately skilled and responsible maintenance of City Hall, Public Safety Building, and Library and their grounds. Ability to clean and maintain cleanliness as directed; ability to perform various tasks involving physical strength. This employee may be called on as time permits to assist in cleanup/grounds maintenance at other locations in the City and at special festivals or events.
