Job summary

Cleveland State University is seeking a dedicated cleaning staff member for Engaged Learning facilities. You will perform daily cleaning tasks across classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas, ensuring spaces are clean and well-maintained.

Your responsibilities include mopping, buffing floors, carpet cleaning, dusting, and waste disposal, with the flexibility to take on additional duties as needed. The role requires reliability and adherence to scheduled hours.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School courses through the tenth grade.
• No prior experience required; preference for candidates with institutional cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned areas such as classrooms, offices, restrooms and general areas.
• Mops, vacuums, scrubs and buffs floors using floor machines and buffers weighing up to 15 pounds.
• Cleans carpet using extractors and shampooers.
• Dusts and washes furniture, walls and window sills; cleans glass partitions.
• Cleans face bowls, toilets and urinals; empties trash.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Mops, vacuums, scrubs and buffs floors; uses buffers, automatic floor machines, and electric and/or battery operated ultra high-speed floor machines weighing up to 15 pounds to scrub and buff floors. Cleans carpet using extractors, shampooers and other appropriate equipment. Dusts/washes furniture, walls and window sills. Cleans glass partitions. Cleans face bowls, toilets and urinals. Empties trash. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of High School courses through the tenth grade. No previous experience is required. However, preference may be given to those candidates who can demonstrate successful relevant institutional cleaning experience such as in Universities and hospitals. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK THE SCHEDULED HOURS 7:30am to 4:00pm
