Job summary

ESFM—a division of Compass Group USA—seeks a Lead Janitor in Waverly, IA to oversee training for custodial associates and act as a knowledge resource on cleaning methods, materials and heavy equipment. The role focuses on safety, compliance, and maintaining service quality.

Primary duties include classroom and hands-on training, one-on-one coaching, updating training materials, and supporting orientation. Strong emphasis on OSHA compliance and timely performance reviews.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience required.
• Experience training custodial staff on safety and company policies.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and heavy commercial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts classroom and hands-on training on customer service, safety, compliance and company policies.
• Conducts one-on-one training as needed.
• Updates and provides training on use of janitorial equipment, PPE and chemical usage/safety.
• Copies training material and revises material as needed; conducts administrative tasks as requested.
• Provides feedback on new associates during orientation period; reviews trainee records to ensure successful compliance.
• Provides recommendations to training coordinator for disciplinary action as appropriate.
• Performs monthly safety performance reviews to ensure OSHA and company compliance.
• Performs walk-through building inspections as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
