Job summary

The State of Nevada, Office of the Military in Carson City, is seeking a Custodial Worker 1 to perform general cleaning tasks across facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning offices and restrooms, operating cleaning equipment, performing light maintenance, and ensuring security of premises. Requires basic schooling or equivalent experience and the ability to follow schedules and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or six months of custodial experience in relevant environments.
• Experience with cleaning agents, equipment handling, and safety procedures preferred.
• Ability to read labels and follow written instructions, perform basic maintenance tasks and attend training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, classrooms and other facilities according to schedules.
• Operate cleaning equipment (buffers, vacuums, power washers) safely following materials handling guidelines.
• Secure buildings by locking doors/windows, arming security systems, reporting deficiencies.
• Replace light bulbs and report faulty equipment; maintain logs and prepare routine reports.
