The Scantic Valley Y is seeking a Part-Time Custodial Technician to keep the Health and Wellness Center and other spaces clean and well-maintained. Flexible for evening shifts in a community YMCA environment.

Responsibilities include sanitizing facilities, restocking supplies, laundering towels, and maintaining cleaning supplies with proper PPE. Prior custodial experience and a high school diploma are preferred for this role.

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1-2 years of related custodial experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience with wood and tile floor maintenance (wax, shine, strip).
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products.
• Exceptional customer relations focused attitude.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in a team-centric environment.

• Clean and maintain the Wellness Floor, Gymnasium, Community room and other spaces as needed.

• Wash loads of member towels as needed.
• Clean inside windows and mirrors, as needed. As well as outside windows.
• Maintain and inventory of supplies.
• Ensure proper labeling and dilution of all chemicals.
• Always Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (gloves, etc.).
• Other routine maintenance duties as assigned.

Shift: Monday-Friday 6:00pm - 11:00 pm (Part-Time)
Rate: $18/hour

POSITION SUMMARY

The Custodial Technician is to maintain day-to-day cleanliness in the Health and Wellness Center, Early Learning Center and various spaces of the Scantic Valley Y.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Empty trash and refill liners.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, showers, sauna and steam room.
• Clean and maintain the Wellness Floor, Gymnasium, Community room and other spaces as needed
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, showers and Wellness Floor.
• Wash loads of member’s towels as needed.
• Clean inside windows and mirrors, as needed. As well as outside windows.
• Maintain and inventory of supplies.
