Job summary

Torrance Casting, Inc. is seeking a Custodial Technician to keep the facility clean, safe, and presentable inside and out.

You will perform janitorial, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, supporting daily operations and upkeep. The role includes restroom sanitation, floor care, trash removal, window cleaning, inventory checks, setup for meetings, seasonal outdoor tasks, and general safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and other common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, furniture, and fixtures.
• Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners as needed.
• Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors.
• Refill soap, paper towel, and restroom supplies.
• Report maintenance needs (e.g., lighting, plumbing).
• Set up and tear down for meetings, events, or special projects.
• Notify personnel on low inventory counts of cleaning supplies.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained and stored.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Maintain exterior cleanliness of buildings, entrances, and windows.
• Shovel snow and spread salt for winter safety.

Job description

The Custodial Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-kept facility, both inside and out. This position performs a variety of janitorial, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks to ensure the property is presentable and in good working order. The Custodial Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and works closely with other team members to support daily operations and upkeep.

Shift: Monday-Friday 2nd shift availability. Special projects may be required on occasion that require up to one Saturday a month.

Status: Full-time, non-exempt position

Facility Cleaning & Maintenance

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and other common areas


• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, furniture, and fixtures


• Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners as needed


• Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors


• Refill soap, paper towel, and restroom supplies


• Report maintenance needs (e.g., lighting, plumbing, etc.)

Building Support

• Set up and tear down for meetings, events, or special projects


• Notify appropriate personnel on low inventory counts of cleaning supplies and equipment


• Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored


• Follow safety and sanitation procedures at all times

Outdoor & Grounds Maintenance

• Trim bushes, edge sidewalks, and maintain flower beds


• Remove weeds, leaves, and debris from walkways and parking areas


• Shovel snow, spread salt, and maintain safe outdoor walkways during winter
  
• Assist with seasonal landscaping tasks such as planting or mulching


• Maintain exterior cleanliness of buildings, entrances, and windows

General

• Support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all employees and visitors


• Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and environmental standards
