Job summary

Total Maintenance Management in California is seeking a diligent janitorial staff member to keep commercial buildings clean and orderly. You will assist the supervisor with scheduling, perform cleaning of rooms, lobbies, restrooms, and corridors, and operate cleaning equipment as needed.

The role requires physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds, the ability to read simple instructions in English, and adherence to safety guidelines.

Job Description

Summary: Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airports, hospitality, healthcare, convention centers/arenas or other institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

• Assist Facility Manger with scheduling VAssist with administrative dutiesCleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Lifting chairs and place them over tables (approx. chair weight: 20-25 lbs.)
• Moving chemicals (5 gal buckets approx. weight 40+ lbs.) Moving tables (approx. weight 40+ lbs.)
• Operates different types of equipment (i.e. burnishers, scrubbers, pressure washer) Uses ManLift or ScissorLift Machine Washes windows, door panels, and sills
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision of shift responsibility, handling employee issues.

Requirements

Education/Experience: Prior experience in janitorial housekeeping preferred.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.

Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills desired but not required.
