The position requires supervisory experience, strong communication, and knowledge of cleaning procedures, with a focus on safety, training, and performance management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two to three years of supervisory experience in a customer-focused custodial operation is required.
• Specialized knowledge of effective custodial and housekeeping procedures and cleaning systems is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Ability to understand and enforce university policies and procedures.
• Ability to read, write, and perform financial calculations and administrative duties.
• Massachusetts Driver’s License is required; annual check is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Supervise custodial services operations in assigned area and ensure adherence to customer standards.
• Provide hands-on training to custodians on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety.
• Communicate with staff and customers to ensure high levels of service.
• Implement Green Cleaning procedures and train staff accordingly.
• Schedule, assign, and supervise hourly custodial staff and subcontractors as needed.
• Perform quality inspections and implement corrective actions based on audits.
• Manage employee performance and disciplinary actions as required.
• Ensure compliance with departmental, university, and safety procedures.
