Job summary

JCSI is seeking a Bilingual Custodial Supervisor to lead a busy campus cleaning crew in Ashburn, VA. This is a hands-on, full-time role with a 2:00 PM–10:30 PM schedule, Monday through Friday; pay is $26.00 per hour.

You will train, coach, and support staff while contributing to cleaning operations as needed. You must be fluent in Spanish and English and capable of communicating with staff and building occupants daily.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
• Experience supervising or leading a team in custodial/janitorial settings.
• Willingness to perform hands-on cleaning tasks.
• Strong coaching and staff development background.
• Proficient with MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong client relationships with a positive customer service orientation.
• Serve as the main point of contact for client liaisons and ensure quality standards are met.
• Provide leadership and support, including availability for emergency and off-hour needs.
• Promote a strong safety culture and train staff on PPE use and safe practices.
• Plan and assign work schedules to meet service delivery expectations.
• Respond promptly to client-reported emergency cleaning situations.
• Train staff on building and property security protocols.
• Train staff on cleaning methods and site-specific protocols.
• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning supplies and chemicals, including SDS/OSHA compliance.
• Train staff on safe operation of cleaning equipment (buffers, scrubbers).
• Train and manage janitorial and porter staff.
• Monitor timekeeping for adherence and policy compliance.
• Identify opportunities for additional billable work with clients.
• Arrange substitutes or perform work when absences could affect delivery.

About the Role

A well-established facilities services company is hiring a working Bilingual Custodial Supervisor to lead a janitorial team at a busy campus location. This is a hands-on supervisory role: you'll train, coach, and support your crew while still rolling up your sleeves to perform cleaning work yourself when needed. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required, as you'll be communicating daily with both staff and building occupants.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support, including availability for emergency and off-hour needs

• Ensure timely response to client-reported emergency cleaning situations
• Train staff on building and property security protocols
• Train staff on standard and site-specific cleaning methods and protocols

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)
• Prior experience supervising or leading a team, ideally in custodial, janitorial, or commercial cleaning services
• Comfortable performing hands‑on cleaning work in addition to supervisory duties
• Strong track record of staff retention, coaching, and team development
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including presenting to small and large groups
• High School Diploma or GED required
