Job summary

Central Dauphin School District is seeking a Custodial Supervisor to oversee custodial operations across district facilities. This full-time role requires strong leadership and the ability to manage a diverse maintenance team to ensure a safe, clean environment for students and staff.

The candidate will direct custodial staff in both technical and administrative tasks, evaluate effectiveness, and coordinate with school administration on facilities concerns.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a leadership role in custodial/maintenance facilities.
• Experience supervising custodial staff and directing operations.
• Strong communication with diverse groups and stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks as required by district policies.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate cleanliness, sanitation and safety conditions at each location.
• Evaluate performance of custodial staff.
• Train and coach all staff on custodial functions; supervise substitutes.
• Respond to safety, security and fire alarms district-wide during non-school hours on a rotating basis.
• Ensure department policies and procedures are followed at each location.
• Evaluate and recommend new cleaning techniques, chemicals, products and equipment.
• Oversee building/grounds inspections to maintain high standards of quality, safety and security.
• Communicate custodial/facilities concerns with principals and district staff and implement recommendations.
• Organize and oversee setup/teardown of extracurricular activities.
• Assist in work schedules and safety programs for each school.
• Complete first-level admin tasks for custodial staff (timekeeping, absences, scheduling).
• Test new supplies/equipment and make purchasing recommendations.
• Respond to emergencies as needed.
• Prepare performance documentation and annual goals.
