Job summary

The San Francisco Unified School District is seeking a Manager I for Custodial Services to oversee daily operations, budgets, purchasing, contracts, and staff supervision across multiple sites.

You will ensure compliance with regulations, supervise supervisors and custodians, manage timesheets, and collaborate with labor unions, with a schedule of 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday, in a full-time, exempt position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; substitution may be considered with professional experience.
• Strong analytics and data analysis skills to inform goals and strategy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to liaise with senior staff.
• Experience managing budgets, purchasing, and large maintenance departments.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise custodial supervisors and staff; develop and implement policies.
• Oversee budgets, purchasing, inventory, and contracts for waste management and pest control.
• Coordinate staffing and scheduling; ensure regulatory compliance and safety practices.
• Communicate with internal and external partners; manage employee evaluations and training.
• Monitor timesheets, leave requests, and payroll coordination with the payroll department.
