CUSTODIAL MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT
Part-Time
Pay Rate: $16.80 per hour
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-12:00pm and/or 1:00pm - 5:00pm
JOB DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The Custodial/Maintenance Assistant is a part‑time position responsible for routine manual labor and maintenance work. Responsibilities include assisting maintenance technician employees with a variety of duties related to Township operations.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
- Performs routine housekeeping and custodial tasks, including cleaning locker rooms, offices, fitness center, and other areas within Township facilities.
- Performs minor facility and equipment repairs as directed.
- Responsible for meeting room set‑up and tear‑down, as assigned.
- Assists maintenance technicians in the performance of their duties.
- Performs other assigned duties as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Must possess a current, valid Driver's License with a driving history that does not create liability concerns; i.e., convictions of reckless driving, careless driving, a suspended license, or convictions involving drinking and impaired driving.
- Some knowledge of and skill in the operation of hand and power tools required.
- Ability to operate department vehicles, including small vans or pick‑up trucks.
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish good working relationships with the public and other employees.
- Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time; ability to work in adverse environmental, extreme weather, and field conditions.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (both oral and written) required.
- Ability to work a wide variety of shifts, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- This is an "At-Will" position: Work assignments and hours are scheduled based on availability, division requirements, and within the confines of the budget. Schedules and work hours are not guaranteed and are subject to change at any time due to division needs, budgeting constraints, and staff availability.
