Job summary

SBM is seeking a Custodial Lead in Goodyear, AZ to oversee cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas and provide work direction to custodial staff.

The role includes janitorial duties, operating cleaning equipment, scheduling and training, and enforcing safety. Evening shifts are Sunday–Wednesday 6pm–4:30am, pay $16.00–$17.00 per hour. SBM offers comprehensive benefits and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and at least 1 year related experience.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
• Completed all safety and task training certification.
• May be required to be forklift certified.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team.
• Knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties as assigned.
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor.
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair.
• Schedule clean up and repairs as needed.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Track and maintain supply inventory.
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Perform quality, service, and safety inspections.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Report employee personnel and customer issues to supervisor.
• Monitor employees for proper use of PPE and supplies.
• Correct at risk behavior and report to supervisor immediately.
• Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement.
