Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodial Lead to oversee cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas and provide direction to custodial staff. You will ensure daily tasks align with the schedule and maintain safety standards across locations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, CPR/First Aid certification, and a valid driver’s license. Forklift certification may be required. Shift: Monday–Friday, 5:30am–2:00pm, $19–$20 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Follow daily schedule duties.
• Provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor.
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment and track equipment maintenance.
• Schedule clean up and repairs as needed.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area and track supply inventory.
• Assist in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Perform quality, service, and safety inspections.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Report employee/customer issues to supervisor.

Job Overview

The Custodial Lead will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the areas assigned and provides some work direction to custodial staff.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties


• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule


• Provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor


• Assist Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed


• Operate motorized cleaning equipment


• Track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair


• Schedule clean up and repairs as needed


• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area


• Track and maintain supply inventory


• Assist Custodial Supervisor in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment


• Perform quality, service, and safety inspections


• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor


• Report employee personnel and customer issues to supervisor


• Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, and supplies


• Correct at risk behavior and report to the supervisor immediately


• The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.


• Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement

Education and/ or Experience: High school diploma / GED required. At least 1-year related experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR/AED/First Aid certification .

A valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements.

Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team

Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment

Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
