Job summary

The DM Burr Group is seeking a full-time Custodial Floater for the 1st shift, based in the Troy School District. The role requires driving between district buildings with your own vehicle. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm, at $20.00 per hour, plus a $200 hiring bonus after 90 days.

Responsibilities include cleaning, operating floor scrubbers and buffers, trash removal, and safety reporting. Benefits include health, dental and vision, disability, life, 401(k), PTO, holidays, and training.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• 0-6 months custodial/janitorial experience with floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
• Follow basic verbal and written instructions.
• Pay close attention to detail.
• Team aptitude and approach.
• Must have valid driver’s license and own vehicle for transportation.
• Flexible availability.

Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial equipment.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• Remove stains from surfaces using cleaning solutions.
• Clean furniture, window sills, walls and ceilings.
• Dust and polish light fixtures; clean logs and reports.
• Move cabinets and equipment to clean areas.
• Stock restrooms and janitorial closets.
• Record cleaning functions and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance and report safety items.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Setting up and cleaning up after scheduled events
• General snow removal/lawn care as needed
• Ability to drive to more than one building in a work day
