Job summary

The DM Burr Group is seeking a Full Time Custodian for the 2nd shift in the West Bloomfield School District. Schedule: Monday–Friday, with various start times, and a wage of $16.50/hour plus a $1.00/hour bonus for zero absences, totaling up to $17.50/hour. DailyPay available.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification.
• 0-6 months custodial/janitorial experience using floor scrubbers and buffers.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and read labels on cleaning supplies.
• Ability to follow basic written and verbal instructions.
• Must have team aptitude and approach.

Responsibilities

• Use approved cleaning methods and materials in caring for the facility.
• Operate and maintain floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors; empty trash.
• Clean/restock restrooms and break rooms; dust and wipe surfaces.
• Record cleaning functions on logs and report to supervisor.
• Perform light maintenance and report safety issues.

• $500 Hiring Bonus after 90 Days**

Position Available: Full Time Custodian - 2nd Shift in the West Bloomfield School District.

Scheduled: Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:30pm, 2:00pm to 10:30pm, 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

Wage: $16.50/hour

PLUS an additional $1.00/hour bonus for zero absences in a pay period for general custodians.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 0-6 months custodial/ janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires the ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies
• Ability to follow basic verbal & written instructions.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Must have team aptitude and approach.
