Job summary

Academies of Math and Science is seeking a dependable Day Porter / Custodian to support campus operations at 434 W Lerdo Rd, Tucson. The role focuses on keeping classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas clean and welcoming during the school day.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of custodial experience, be proficient with cleaning equipment, and hold an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years custodial/facilities experience.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment.
• Must obtain AZ IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safe chemical handling.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables from indoor and outdoor areas.
• Launder custodial materials such as towels and mop heads.
• Assist with cafeteria setup, school events, and operational needs.
• Operate vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet extractors.
• Apply floor waxes, finishes, and sealants as directed.
• Follow SDS and chemical handling procedures.
