Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Custodial Crew Leader to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. Lead a team of custodial staff to ensure facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities include training and supervising staff, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating daily cleaning operations across facilities. Must be able to travel internationally and meet healthcare/visa requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years of custodial experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle.
• Passport valid and able to travel internationally.
• Must obtain country-specific visas as needed.
• Must pass contract medical and facility credential requirements.
• Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace with safety as the highest priority.

• Clean and maintain buildings, floors, restrooms, and fixtures; perform heavy cleaning tasks.
• Report repairs to supervisor and manage supplies.
• Drive vehicles to cleaning sites and relocate equipment as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Amentum is seeking a Custodial Crew Leader to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Custodial Crew Leader leads a team of custodial staff to ensure facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
• Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
• Train custodial staff in proper cleaning techniques.
• Assign custodians to specific areas, periodically inspect their work, and hold them accountable for work that is not completed to standard.
• Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition.
• Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, latrines and shower, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, removing trash, cleaning laundry rooms, washing machines and dryers.
• Report or notify Supervisor concerning the need for repairs.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Vacuum, steam-clean, or shampoo carpets.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Clean and restore building interiors damaged by coffee stains, dust, fingerprint or water, using commercial cleaning equipment.
• Follow procedures for the safe and effective use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Drive vehicles required to travel to cleaning work, including vans, small trucks, ATV's or golf carts.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications:

• Two (2) years' experience performing custodial duties.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work effectively with multi-national staff and demanding customers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• A valid driver's license to legally operate a motor vehicle
• Must be in possession of a valid passport and able to travel internationally.
• Passport should be valid for at least one (1) year at the time of hire.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
• Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.

• Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
• Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
