Job summary

Le Jardin Academy in Kailua, Hawai’i, seeks a full-time Custodial Associate to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary learning environment across our facilities. You will perform general cleaning, light maintenance, and setup for daily activities, reporting to the Facilities Manager.

Qualifications include one year of related experience preferred, a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and ability to work in a school setting. Must be able to speak, read, and write English.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting.
• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, lockers, break areas and other spaces.
• Sanitize high-touch surfaces and dispose of trash/recycling properly.
• Restock consumables and maintain cleaning equipment.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for daily lunch service and events.
• Report safety or maintenance concerns to Facilities Manager.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Work across classrooms, gym, offices, restrooms and outdoor spaces as needed.

Le Jardin Academy is looking for a Custodial Associate (Full-time). The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in our facilities. This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that our buildings are well-kept for employees and visitors. Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00AM-4:30PM. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Hourly pay range:$18.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Purpose

By performing thorough cleaning, sanitation, and basic upkeep tasks, this position supports the school’s mission of providing a world-class International Baccalaureate education, ensuring that students, staff and visitors can focus on teaching, learning, and growth in well-maintained facilities.

Job Scope

The custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in our facilities. This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that our buildings are well-kept for employees and visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting operating custodial equipment.

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, lockers, breakroom, concession and other areas as assigned.

• Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces, door knobs, light switches daily.

• Emptying trash and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal.

• Maintain cleanliness of floors, windows, and surfaces.

• Strip, wax, buff and deep clean floors as scheduled

• Wash windows, mirrors, whiteboards, and walls/sills as needed.

• Assist in the setup and cleanup of facilities for daily lunch service

• Restocks consumable supplies daily

• Responds to reactive calls for cleaning and sanitation

• Participate in periodic deep cleaning during school breaks or as directed by the Facilities Manager

• Reports any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the Facilities Manager

• Follows safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment

• Works in classrooms, gymnasiums, offices, and restrooms, as well as outdoor spaces in courtyards and around buildings.

Other Duties

• Assists with event setups and breakdowns for meetings and special events.
