Job summary

SBM is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas. Responsibilities include janitorial duties, hazardous waste handling, operating cleaning equipment, and reporting hazards to supervision. The role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

Shifts Tue-Sat 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM, with a pay range of $15–$16 per hour. Valid driver's license may be required for site travel; company benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bilingual a plus; ability to communicate clearly.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and procedures.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; safe chemical handling.
• Commitment to safety rules and procedures.
• Team player with ability to take direction.
• Physical stamina to lift/move up to 35 lbs.
• Forklift certification may be required depending on site.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and follow daily schedule.
• Handle hazardous waste duties: collection, sorting, labeling, packing as needed.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas; report hazards.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and respond to supervision.
• Work in a team and fill in during staff shortages.
• Drive to various work locations as needed; present professional appearance.
• Support shift lead with punch-list items.

Custodia# **Job Description:****Job Overview**The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned. **Roles & Responsibilities**To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.* Perform janitorial duties* Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule* Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.* Operate motorized cleaning equipment* Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area* Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor* Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures* Stop at risk behavior of others and self* Perform work assignments in a team with other employees* Perform repetitive tasks* Maintain clean work area* Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules* Take direction and respond to supervision* Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner* Fill in during staff shortage* Support shift lead in completing punch-list items* Use proper personal protective equipment* Present a professional appearance and conduct* Understand customer service and satisfaction* The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.* Understand reporting systems, and of the environment **Qualification**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
