Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP in Independence, Kansas, is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas. You will perform janitorial duties, operate cleaning equipment, and support safety protocols.

This role requires the ability to follow schedules, work with a team, handle hazardous waste tasks, and communicate professionally with supervisors and customers. Shifts are Monday through Friday, 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm; pay ranges $11.00–$12.00 per hour with

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Handle Hazardous Waste duties including collection, labeling, sorting, and shipping if applicable.
• Report incidents and hazards to supervisor.
• Follow safety rules and company procedures.

# **Title:**Custodian# **Job Description:****Job Overview**The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned. **Roles & Responsibilities**To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.* Perform janitorial duties* Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule* Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.* Operate motorized cleaning equipment* Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area* Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor* Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures* Stop at risk behavior of others and self* Perform work assignments in a team with other employees* Perform repetitive tasks* Maintain clean work area* Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules* Take direction and respond to supervision* Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner* Fill in during staff shortage* Support shift lead in completing punch-list items* Use proper personal protective equipment* Present a professional appearance and conduct* Understand customer service and satisfaction* Understand reporting systems, and of the environment **Qualification**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
