Job summary

Henry Street Settlement in New York is seeking a Content Specialist for Education & Employment/Youth Services to develop and support comprehensive educational programming that meets academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs of youth participants on the Lower East Side.

The role leads hands-on inquiry-based projects and enrichment activities, ensuring alignment with early college awareness and youth agency while collaborating with staff, families, and community partners to meet grant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field required, master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in after-school and/or camp settings.
  • Experience developing quality age appropriate, hands-on projects, enrichment, and recreation experiences for youth (K-8).
  • Experience working with diverse backgrounds and implementing culturally relevant programming.
  • Strong organizational, multitask, and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and maintenance of a comprehensively coordinated educational program.
  • Incorporate early college awareness and post-secondary exploration into the curriculum philosophy.
  • Plan and execute hands-on inquiry-based projects, enrichment, and recreation experiences.
  • Integrate age-appropriate Social Emotional Learning into activities.
  • Structure instruction with focus on neurodivergent learners.
